Abstract

I propose to create an educational fragment of Scala for teaching introductory programming courses. In this talk proposal, I describe the issues with using the full Scala language in an introductory course, then share my ideas on how to design an educational fragment of Scala, and lastly raise several questions for discussion at the workshop.
